Information on Orlando Auto Insurance

Major things you may not know or be told about your Orlando Auto Insurance policy:

1)       Gap Insurance:  Anyone purchasing a new vehicle or leasing a vehicle should really consider adding on Gap Insurance onto their current auto policy.  Gap Insurance provides coverage for the difference between the amount you owe on the vehicle and the cars actual cash value.  Typically all new cars or leases will have a gap that will be uninsured at time of loss that will leave the owner of the vehicle to have to come out of pocket with the difference which can be thousands of dollars.

2)       Short Rate Penalty: All insurance companies can charge a short rate penalty if you move your insurance mid-term.  Insurance companies charge 10% of the unearned premium if you move your coverage midterm.  Many times you are not advised of this charge by the insurance company who claims they are saving you money in order to get your business.  Be sure to wait until you renewal time or ask the insurance company to calculate what your short rate penalty will be before you move coverage to a new carrier.

3)      Orlando insurance agency: Value of using an Orlando Insurance agency vs using an online or over the phone insurance carrier.  Most times their is no difference in cost and when you get your insurance through a local insurance professional you have an advocate on your side that is not an employee of the insurance company.  You purchase insurance to protect you when claims happen.  Wouldn’t you want to have an independent party to help you navigate the claim process?
